The Brave New World

The Brave New World

A Poem by Bryad Polis Valentino
"

Whatever your fate may be, do not let it be one of ignorance and denial.

"
The brave new world,

The one where I will go,

I do not know it at all,

Acceptance, bittersweet,

Playing my lute,

My fingers bleed,

A hidden tear falls,

Recognizing my pain,

I walk into the brave new world,

Drawing my breath with caution,

Whatever it may offer me,

Is something of my own perception,

Not of any sort of due,

All of it, foreign, new,

The brave new world,

One of fear and loathing,

This bard has sorrow,

One that secretly shows,

Over his expected journey,

How the brave new world,

Is one of old, borrowed fate.

"Fear not, you are in good faith."

"That's all the tiny sprite bore him."

"Bryan was perplexed. His own senses brought forth meaning, but his stony heart rejected to find any hope."
