White Lightning

White Lightning

A Poem by Bryad Polis Valentino
"

Kind of a metaphoric interpretation of an abusive relationship with something literal and material. Mythic, in its unsung way.

"
White Lightning,

How you escape me,

You light my flame,

Giving me what I need,

What I want,

Keeping my path,

Steady and true.

As you ignite the embers,

I breathe in the smoke,

Making me cough,

Amongst pillars of flames,

I'll escape you this time,

Barely, and I'll tell you how.

My steed, I'm abandoning you,

You're risky, a flight risk,

So I have to use you,

Abuse you,

Then throw you away,

White Lightning,

So faithful, to the end,

Despite your need to dance,

I got to get rid of you for my soul,

White Lightning, cheating b*****d,

How I loved you,

Yet now I need to let you go,

I'll throw you away.

It's not about what you think. I'll entertain good guesses. Maybe I'll give you the secret of the poem if I like you.
