The Dying Man

The Dying Man

A Story by BrynnaW.

I laid on the ground. Desperately clinging on to life. My hand covered the bullet wound on my side. Blood flowed out of the wound and over my hand. A tear slowly ran down my cheeks and I bit my lip until it bled. I gasped for air but cringed with every move. Out of nowhere a woman appeared at my side. She gently moved my hand and stared at the wound. The woman stroked the tears from my eyes and held my hand. She didn't try to bandage me... I guess she knew that there was no hope for me but at least I could have company before I died. She whispered quietly in my ear but I couldn't quite understand what she said. A pain shot through my side and I cried out. The woman rubbed my arms and held my head on her lap. I might have enjoyed us had I not been dying. I felt myself slipping away slowly. I stared at the womans eyes and saw her care and tenderness. But I felt like I had seen those eyes somewhere.... But where? It took all my effort but I figured it out. I was about to say "I've always loved you" but I died along with those words on my lips.

A beautiful rendering of an empath solacing one so destined to expire.Myriads of emotion are cascading down the heart, as the mingled tears of the spectrum of humanity blend here.. The finality of death, seen through the eyes of both the departing, and the angel of mercy. We are all in love, at the crossing.
Beautiful, Brynna.

Deep sadness, many tend to not say what they feel, then it may be to late...we should always speak our hearts!
Nicely done!
