art angels

art angels

A Poem by Busola Laditan
"

ode to the pompous

"

I'm jealous of art angels, celestial,

Thus they'll posthumously receive from me my admiration,

because though we read the same books and admired replications of the same paintings,

I liked and disliked them all for the wrong reasons.

You are of poetic bloodline,

and even as artists miss their own subtext,

your discerning senses dialogue directly with every hidden underline,

and pervade the collective subconscious.

I reread this work again, Busola, and you know the heavens is the most troublesome of worries; when I was little I told my Mother, of catholic church, that I wanted to be an angel, she hurt me feelings by denying me such, sighing, love, mishel

It is impossible to like or dislike anything for the wrong reason unless it is a reason that has been given to you by another and not one you have deduced on your own. People go around saying, "don't judge". How stupid! If nobody judges then there is no judgement and thus, no relevant thought. It is not judgement that is the culprit but the lack of sound judgement. People need to think for themselves and learn the facts to make informed decisions. They need to quit trusting in teachers, bankers, lawyers, politicians and ministers to tell them the truth and get off their butts and go out and FIND the truth. To me, every human being is a pile of dirt. One pile of dirt can never say to another pile of dirt, " Hey, look at me, I'm a better pile of dirt than you." But if one pile of dirt is actually more fertile, then, it will be known by the things that grow there and the fruit they bear. "Pedantry is the last refuge of the truly ignorant." That means, big words sometimes hide small minds. I just got carried away with this one. I really like your poem. It's a rant of sorts and a good rant. I'm just trying to agree with your idea here. lol

I dig this one like there is no tomorrow.
They are unnatainable, and I ponder as you mention
that even the artist "miss their own subtext";
great write! ---mishel
