Notes to Persephone 9

Notes to Persephone 9

A Poem by CLCurrie

Death hangs on the full moon

A grin on his scythe

The Raven in midflight

While the Night hugs me

And I kiss her in the glory of the stars

Nyx here with me and me alone

But its all a dream

For all that I loved

                I love alone

Soon the dawn will come

Burning away the vision of the Night

In my eyes

With a demon in my gaze

The red washes my hands

She is gone from this world

Death has moved on

The Raven holds her hair in his …

The moon is empty

And I, this foolish poet with a smoking gun

Moves on to the next dame I love so dearly

Knowing it is all a dream

That puts Heaven in a rage …

Nyx never moves on. She is the night, unavoidable. Even Zeus lives in fear.
