Tales Of Ancient Greece : Curse Of The Erinyes

Tales Of Ancient Greece : Curse Of The Erinyes

A Story by Cynthia Wolff

Every day I see you in the market near the temple of Aphrodite and I have fallen madly in love.
So I feverishly write poem after poem of my feelings for you.
Sleep no longer visits me. Hunger has left.
"I only wish to be near you my love. To hold you in my arms forever." I say as I stare at the opulent ring that I have acquired for you at the expense of everything I own.
Soon my courage shall find me and I will gift it to you.
That day has finally come and for the first time, I walk up to you and look into your mysterious sea green eyes.
Your smile melting my heart as my trembling voice attempts a poem that I have written for you.
You keep smiling, blushing slightly.
Then I see, from the corner of my eye,  a friend of mine approach.
Overjoyed at the intrusion, ready for my love to be witnessed by all
I greet my friend warmly and announce to them that I'm in love with this beauty.
My friend then asks in a worried tone. "Who are you talking to?"
