I Can't Talk to You Right Now

I Can't Talk to You Right Now

A Chapter by Cae

I can't talk to you right now
Your words are written
But I hear them as your voice
Clear as day, sitting next to me
I feel them as your fingers
Caressing the back of my hand
I touch them, and they're so cold
But when I used to touch you, you were warm
Ironic.
I taste them, like blood
Filling my mouth, and I can't spit it out
I smell them and it smells like this jacket
I still have it, of course
It still smells like you; the warm you
I hold them; I don't want to let go
But they're sharper than knives
And they don't leave clean cuts
I hold them; I don't want to let go
But the weight is so heavy
Even though, they're so empty
When did I become so weak
