My Candle

My Candle

A Poem by Jessica L Auster

Even in the darkest of times,

You've always been my candle.

And walking through such a mess

With anyone else doesn't feel comforting.

Now, I've said it so many times,

That I don't think I can find a simple rhyme...

And in basic terms:

"I love you".

Trevor, you make me not want to meet the other

598 people left out there,

And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world

For being able to forever hold your hand.

Never will I let it go.

My love for you is hidden in our kisses,

Our love making,

And our naps.

I'll be your fire, when you are cold,

And I'll always be here when you're feeling alone.

Never will I leave you,

Forever I will stay.

Trevor, I love you;

Even after my dying day.
