Perfection is a Dream

"I want to be perfect,"
I once had said,
But, I didn't know that,
These words are bled.

I now know,
I was a young fool,
Perfection is a dream,
To us, 'tis cruel.

I wanted to be a princess,
Down when I was five,
"Princesses are perfect,"
And that was my strive.

I now know,
What I want to do,
I want to write,
My feelings for you.

I'm not perfect,
No one will be,
But inner perfection,
Is all I see.

Perfection is a dream,
And that is my truth,
I now know it is,
Yet, not so much my youth.

I like this word play, for many reasons.
For, introspection, throughout the seasons.

Time alters the way that we may perceive,
yet perfects the notions in which we believe.

Words may echo, in the canyons of our mind,
ricocheting joys, sever the stresses that bind.

And when the journey of life is done,
our words are here for everyone.
