Illumination

Illumination

A Poem by Carly Rose

I feel out of place until I feel your frame
Against me, beside me, in my sight.
When we say goodbye the desperation swells like an ocean wave.
Like it crashes to the shore, it floods my heart.
You are the tallest tower
The purest ray of sunlight.
My bones would ache, my  mind eternally wander
If I reached for your hand, and you pulled it away.
I'd drown in lonely sorrow
Deteriorate in the blackness, in the absence of your light.
Although you are not the sun, which illuminates the world,
You are the light that fills me.
Exposing, for once,
My recent, profound understanding
of how it feels to wake up
and thank the heavens I will live another day.

A most sensual, romantic tale of
nature of the self.
Exquisite writing.
