Dear First Love,

 

Love is patient

Love is kind

Love, is not you

 

You are neither patient nor kind

Neither gentle nor caring

You have spent your whole life

Using and abusing

For you yourself have been used and abused

Neglected, beaten down

 

But you can’t

You shouldn’t

Use others to

make you whole

You have to love yourself

Otherwise

Love, is not you

 

You have an excuse for every wrong that you do

Because love, is not you

Love makes no excuses

Love causes no harm

Love, is not you

 

I thought I loved you

In fact, I know that I did

But I value

selflessness

 

You know only, self-centeredness

 

Love is selfless

And love, is not you

 

I am a women who deserves love

I am not a toy

I am not to be tossed aside

As if I am beneath you

You, who is not love

 

For love knows no boundaries

And love does not tire or get bored

You, are not love

 

I wanted you to be love

Whether to me

or even to another

I wanted love for you

You, who is not love

 

So, my friend,

I pray you know selflessness

Know kindness

And know

that there is hope

in your messed up world

 

Love is hope

 

And my dear, I pray

One day

You, will be love

to her

Whoever, she may be

 

Because for me

Love will be an ocean

Compared to you

And you will be only a puddle

in comparison

 

I will remember you

How you wronged me

But also, how you taught me

 

I will remember you as my first love

Love you did not deserve from me

Love I never got from you

You, who is not love

 

I will hold fond memories

Of the time when you wanted me

And I will remember, but forgive

The times you threw me aside

 

I will hold no grudge to you

you, who is not love

I will thank you

For your time

For showing me what love

Is not

 

So when you find your love

Become love

Choose love

I pray you will

one day

Know and be

Love to her.

Do not throw her aside

Be patient

Be kind

Be selfless

Really this is a nice poem written on love the most vibrent topic to deal with..I enjoed the poem as a whole .It really deserve to be liked.. How fine and lovely described woman..
