The threshold

The threshold

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

We can be given motivation by the words of great poets. Thank you Rene Salinas for loaning me a verse.

"
"The threshold, wide and the appearance inviting.
The ill embrace of uncertainty daunting.
The path which leads to destruction,
So enticing, that many are invited."

Quote by Rene Salinas

                                Threshold

"The threshold, wide and the appearance inviting.
The ill embrace of uncertainty daunting.
The path which leads to destruction,
So enticing, that many are invited."

I knew the ending before the first kiss or act.
Wild blue eyes, long white Summer dress and perfect young body.
Wasn't to be held for eternity.

She appeased me with questions and I felt the need to betray true love
for dances in the darkness of false need.
She was reckless and dangerous. Offering me shelter without demand.
Embrace with no real payment.

I wanted her. I wanted to remove her Summer dress and trace her body
like a artist seeking hidden places and faces rarely seen.

Her lustful glances and her charm make me wish to kiss her sun-kissed skin and
fall in the storm of temperamental  heart. I knew when you enter into a threshold
of a untamed storm. The enticement will make you fall completely.

Forgetting what is true and real.
Treason is love cannot be forgotten and
what is left behind will leave you wanting for things lost and never to be found.

Fruitless love will leave you alone. Burning fires will burn out and wild in heart.
They will move on.
The temptation of new threshold can be tempting?
Old man wisdom. Is the dance worth the payment?

Oh boy. Does this ever hit me hard. Do I relate. Damn strait I do. Been there. Done that. Twice. I'm a hard learner, my friend. "Is the dance with the payment?" In the long run probably not, but as Rene says you have your memories of fun in the sun. I really like this telling it like it is poem.

Those romances that you know are over before they've begun. A wry and whimsical write, John:)

True temptation can be a cruel temptress... mustn't allow
our fleshly desires to control us we can be Imprisoned by our feelings
and desires and they will pull us here and there and will confuse us.

Thank you for sharing this wise piece my friend.

you're welcome. thank you I am glad that you do.
Coyote, I enjoyed this one tremendously. Appropriately named, and deep with layers of an onion. There are many thresholds of life. The young have to learn this lesson the hard way, and consequences are sometimes deeper and more expensive than the moment was worth in the first place. Very intelligent, thoughtful write!

Thank you Angad. I enjoyed your poetry also. I will return tonight and read more.
Oh man! what a difference on the twist itself. I came unprepeared and I did not think you would enter the issue in this way. This is what the expression "Two minds are better than one" is all about. Thresholds as Coyote points out eloquently are everywhere is not just a philosophical or intellectual tendency or an emotional door to go through they seem like hurdles to jump for the sake of developing onself. The association with another human being is ever more daunting than my prospect as there is a lot to loose and well a lot to gain. She seems worth it though. At the risk of forgetting what is true and what is real? Sure it is. Can temptation be a Threshold? Of course God knows only all the ones that succumb to temptation only to pay the consequences later.

Is the dance worth the payment?

Oh , no one can take away all that you have drank and all the fun had.

Can we pay in installments? Easily affordable ones....

Thankyou
