I am thankful and Merry Christmas...

I am thankful and Merry Christmas...

I am thankful and Merry Christmas..

I saw my face  in the mirror at Chucky’s Cheese.
I was surprised to see a old man looking back.

I was sixty-four years old.
Holding my Granddaughter.
She is almost one year old and
her big smile and laughter made me smile.
My old face didn’t look so bad.

I stopped and did a silence prayer to the Spirit of life and death.
I thank them for this day.
I pray my Grandchild and all children have a fair chance at life.

My eyes have eroded with time. Can’t see nothing without my glasses.
My hard living made my mind weaker.
I need to write notes for reminders or I may forget.
I don’t run no more.
I still can walk like a Soldiers.

My baby girl is twenty-six now.
She is turning into a beauty like her mother.
She is texting 10 times per minute.
I caressed  the back of her head.
Give her five dollars for the games.

She gives me the boredom look.
I smiled and watch her wandered off.

I do a silence prayer.
Being thankful for four healthy children.

I walked behind my two grandsons.

Their eyes wide open to the world around them.

I sat and watched my grand-daughter Mia plays in the small kids section.
I wonder how our leaders in the USA think?
Why the discussion of War is more important then education and hunger?

Their children will pay for our waste and sins too.
Our hate and fear will destroy their future for all the children
in this world.

Baby Mia is climbing on me.
She is having the time of their life.

I pray a silence prayer for the day.
When children can grow up in  a world that is safe and
all the children have a fair chance at a good life.

I’m thankful for this day.

"How could I find any reason anymore in this one, crazy world?", she asked.
The old, wise man looked at the sky, then closed his eyelids and whispered something quietly.
After that he turned his gaze towards his daughter who had her dark eyes full of stars and her ckeeks like little roses. Her smile warmth his heart.
But for now - his daughter had questioned the chaos in the world and human kind.
What to say?
The old, wise man smiled to his precious one.
"The reason sats here in front of me", he said.

I can identify with this one. Mirrors are an old man's worst enemies.

It sounds like you have the world in your hands, your family sounds amazing and you are a very lucky man and have much to be thankful for. I also agree with your ending, why do our leaders care more about how they appear than how the people of their country live and survive. Nice one my friend.

Thank you for the post - really heartfelt and touching. I can relate very clearly to what you are experiencing and for that which you are in silent prayer. Sadly I too feel the same fears you expressed. I'm sadly confident that most leaders think of extending control, fame, fortune (war gives them hope of accomplishing these) and they probably believe their power, prestige and wealth will protect their loved ones. Beyond that there are very few that truly care about the masses. There are some that have noted the masses - "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." - Hoping you will find encouragement and peace in Christmas. -carl

Hello dear Andrew and Merry Christmas my friend.
Why the discussion of War is more important then education and hunger? I love this line dear Coyote. Though we may never have the answers we look for, you and yours will be blessed for all the compassion in your heart. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas, peace, joy and love.

You have so much to be thankful for. Thank you sharing this beautiful personal moment.
I too wonder why our leaders have misguided priorities. I hope the future will be a better place for these children.
