My Superman

My Superman

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

He doesn't wear a cape, or a pair of blue tights.
He doesn't lose his powers when the sun sets at night.

He can't fly faster than a speeding bullet, he can't leap buildings in a single bound.
No superhuman abilities, yet my heart he astounds.

He doesn't have a secret identity, or hide behind a guise.
No city to protect shall evil choose to arise.

To everyone who passes him in a store or, on a street
he seems so very ordinary, maybe even obsolete,

But to me he's something different, something I never want to lose,
I won't live without him, he's the fire to my fuse.

I may not be Lois Lane, he may not be Clark Kent,
we may be miles apart, but this time will be well spent.

Even in his darkest times I'll be his biggest fan,
with everyday that passes he's still my Superman.
