My Anthem

My Anthem

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

Like a snowflake in the desert, I'm an anomaly
In a judgmental world that doesn't want me

I've been pushed around,
Kicked down,
And never made a sound.

'Til now

You thought I would lay down and take it instead of stand up and make it.

I may be bent, but I won't break
My worth isn't in your hands, it's mine to make.

You can judge me, talk behind my back, point out my flaws and all that I lack.

Expect me to crumble, but I won't fall you know I'll never be a Barbie Doll

You may not believe in me
But one day soon I'll make you see

Though I can't always see the light
I know I'm gonna be alright.
