Breathe No More

Breathe No More

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

The edge of a cliff is where I stand,
I play back the ending in my head,
the slamming of the door,
and I breathe no more.
You captured my heart, so I ran away
afraid of the pain that stands in the way.
You swear you mean the words you speak,
but I'm troubled and broken and it's left me weak,
and my refelction decives me when I look in it's eyes
and all I can see are it's lies.
It's screaming at me. I cover my ears,
but the screams bring me to tears
Making it impossible to see past my fears.
Because I am foolish and couldn't see
you turned away and abandoned me.
The fight left me broken and dead inside
and after you left I wanted to die.
Now the edge of a cliff is where I stand,
I play back the ending in my head,
the slamming of the door
and I breathe no more.
