Nothing

Nothing

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

I feel terrible that I don't feel a thing
I keep trying to love you, but my heart just won't sing.

A picture perfect man who's so into me,
but the man of my past is all that I see.

I'm desperately trying to build something with you,
but he's in every thought I have no matter what I do.

I miss him like crazy and I feel so ashamed,
he treated me like garbage, I was just a pawn for his game.

But you treat me like a queen up on a pedestal,
a love I've always wanted, so why is my heart so inflexible?

You could be my hero,
if only I could let him go,

But I'm stuck in his abyss
Sitting in the dark doomed to reminisce.
