My Guiding Light

My Guiding Light

A Poem by Penelope Lee

Can I touch the sky? With you, I fly so high

Looking at the highest mountains I have climbed

And there we go, look down below, and see the light before me, shining bright.

In my wake, no sleep tonight, I feel the wonder and delight, for me to be for all eternity, guides what I see, my guiding light.

So, is this what I take, can I touch the sky? I fly so high, with you tonight, my guiding light.

Can I touch the sky? With you, I fly so high.

You have great poems and an aptitude to rhyme! Like, wow, you could probably be a rapper if you're thinking about a career change. I quite enjoy reading your poems out-loud; mostly because I'm quite childish. You should play around with structure, and see what else you can come up with.
