Where My Soul Bleeds

Where My Soul Bleeds

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

I am looking at black ink waking up the words that cut through me.......

"

I am looking at black ink waking up the words that cut through me
While praying, they form a message that sends relief
I want to scream out that this is my world I love so deeply
And that every page is the ground
Where my soul bleeds

Tell me is it less fair to extend a soul so drained that it no longer sings
Yet still rises shyly to offer a quiet refrain you will never forget
Do the tears that are folded into a new day
Become ignorant so much so that they
Drown your spirit?

If I wrote you a love letter, would you search the world for our destiny
Perhaps finding words full of vibrant colors that spin on the truth
Or would you get discouraged with my right hand
For delaying the proud breezes you wish
To feel here in wonder

I am looking at black ink racing through my veins
Let me take the time to create a story that will comfort every page
Of this world I love so deeply because rare is the heartbeat
That overcomes that which is taught by time to walk
On the definition of a kiss.

My thoughts crumble into sweet passion waking black ink
Until my heart is bathed in a constant notice from time and space
Although my words are never spoken,
Bits and pieces of them enjoyed the last time the ink whispered
Onto pages where my soul bleeds

The hurt and yearning are strong in this piece. I love the use of the word ink in this piece as well. It makes your thought creative and gives it a depth. This is a bit different for you with the sad tone but it is well written and still has the Neva beauty to it.

Very beautiful. I can almost feel the emotion and longing reaching out from the page. The overall writing and tempo reminds me of some other classic type poems. fantastic!

A longing to be heard and felt i find some bit of the middle age English in this as well as a modern A touch of thyself i suppose.A wandering desire of the deep heart to be touched .As we all seem to find in life we are not whole when w are alone .We awe at those who seem happy and content alone but are they? I think not all hearts share the innate desire for there mate

I LOVE this, I've recently written about the process of writing, using the letters and metaphors of letters to tell a love story - so this was so interesting for me. Beautiful. I wish mine had sounded like yours!

You have a fan, this is gorgeous. I could 'feel' it, such a good depiction of life and loving and the relationship with writing.

Nice metaphor...bleeding onto the pages words so many times not read or purchased or wanted, yet they speak. The depths of sadness can be described at such times, and the motivational energy that sometimes is received can bring one through those seemingly endless valleys.

Nice work...!
