Listen To the Heart That Holds Your Hand

Listen To the Heart That Holds Your Hand

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Underneath together lie two lives that seek what is inside

"
Underneath together lie two lives that seek what is inside
Even when everything seems perfect as it is
Dreaming of flying in wild hopes may never be spoken
Two minds full of dreams watch the same moon
Flowing in different winds

Often we ask to see no more than what lies on the surface
Perhaps fearing that the song we would hear
Would no longer be the beautiful music that played
Warming our tender hearts in wintry times
All throughout our years

We sit on the sidewalk of life and look at all of the cracks
Completely absorbed in our personal affairs
Two lives together where everything seems perfect
Holding each others hands blindly yet so often
We have no idea what is there

As swift as lightning what we see can quickly disappear
What is there can meet you around the bend
You may find that what lies underneath your together
Can be learned by listening to the heart
That holds your hand

This is wonderfully and sincerely written, there's insight and understanding running right the way through; tho we're told to think with our heads - and must, the heart's more often or not the best guide to what relationships are all about.

A poem with a beautiful and true story. Wise people hold tighter and understand love can weaken. Need to hold tighter and grasp at what made the love true and powerful. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

It is not--as some claim--mere mindlessness to cling to our illusions. We must often continue to cling until there is no longer a need to. The need determines.
As always, soaring and superior work.
