Let the Clouds Watch Them Fly

Let the Clouds Watch Them Fly

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

The wings of time demand; tirelessly they seek............

"

Let the clouds up in heaven watch the wings of time
While our hearts pull down our shades
Listen as they claim them as their very own
Forgotten like flowers in the wind
Our petals will not fade

Time will stand still and there will be no change
Our hearts will stand in youth
Walking softly within a tender strength
Bright lanterns that will silence
Time's wings of truth

Our eyes will sweetly smile at silver threads of life
Knowing they will never ever age
Rewriting our own history on either side
Without those heavy wings of time
Brushing on the page

The wings of time demand; tirelessly they seek
A taste of life upon their tongue
Let the clouds up in heaven watch them fly
Our hearts pulled down the shades
Once again, we are young

At times, Neva, your usage of wonderfully universal emotions and amazingly descriptive images combine to create poems of immense beauty. When you get everything inch perfect, as you have done in this poem, one does not even begin to want to criticize it. Brilliant!

"Our hearts will stand in youth" is such a beautiful line for me. Holding on to the memories of youth...and harnessing the energy of those moments when we need too... Love it Neva..x

I agree with everyone else! You are a master of putting words together to create a certain emotion or memory and you are brilliant! Most poetry does not have this depth and beauty and wonder that yours does! 100!

The repetition had a pleasing effect.. there was a Dylan Thomas kind of feel to this for me.. and I loved the image of 'the silver threads of life'

You are such a romantic!
