I'm Not Perfect

I'm Not Perfect

A Poem by sarabeth120
"

Just something I wrote to all those people who judge people based on looks alone...

"

You judge me

Based on looks

On clothes

On appearance

And anything else

You can think of.

Who are you to do that?

You have no right

Based entirely on looks.

You tell me I’m ugly.

You tell me I’m fat

Who are you to say things like that?

To someone you barely know

If you stopped being so judgmental

And superficial

You would see me

The true me

The one I hide

From those who are unworthy

But you could change

If you could respect me

And how I look

I’m not perfect

And neither are you

I'm not a poet, really... I'm a novel writer, but I can occasionally write a decent poem. I have no intentions of ever getting this published, but please tell me what you think!

Great poem - it flows effortlessly. I love the tone of indignation.
This line didn't seem to fit for me - But you could change. It doesn't match anything else in the poem. Just a thought. T.
