Dinner

Dinner

A Poem by Charred Faith
"

Dinner with my 5 year old son.

"

Late one Tuesday evening,

I sat with my son a dining.

He looked at me with a smile,

We hadn't played this in awhile.

What if I was 29?

Then you'd be a man.

What if I was 14?

Then you'd be a boy.

What if I was as big as a tree?

Then you'd be a very tall man.

What if I was on a cloud?

Then you 'd be a man in space.

What if I was as big as a house?

Then you'd be a very fat man.

What if I was the size of a leaf?

Then you'd be a very small man indeed.

What if I was 100?

Then you'd be an old man.

What if I was 129?

Then you'd be a very dead old man.

What if I was you?

I drew a blank.

It is amazing the insights of a child at that age. I like the title. I think it fits well.

I'm not quite sure if the title fits exactly, though I can't think of a better one.
But this is a lovely poem! I love the ending.
