Hushed

Hushed

A Poem by Chase Weik
"

A repeating stanza poem for creative writing class.

"

Travesty. Travesty.

Couldn’t convey,

Mask your impurity in rose colored tint

What kind of life is this?

Keep the thoughts shrouded

Tell not a soul

The healing’s worth quitting

If they’re unaware

Collected facade

Festering core

Plagued by the need

Of a damning circumstance.

How to persist?

A catch-22 --

Chained to the past

Constrained by perception

Travesty. Travesty.

Couldn’t convey,

Mask your impurity in rose colored tint

What kind of life is this?

Oh, what kind of life?

Captivating and like how you used your words to express and convey the feelings and emotions. Good job.
