Summer Disappearance

Summer Disappearance

A Poem by Chelsea

The way my feet feel in the sand
It's summer and I'm alive again
The sun is radiating on me
My skin is illuminating

The air is fresh
My favorite taste
Something to remind me of
The beautiful possibilities ahead of me

I slip my foot into the water
Feel the soothing liquid burning my toes
It's refreshing, I sigh.

The sun is starting to set
I can almost feel you next to me
Your voice in my ear
Telling me to be brave

I feel a nibble on my toe
It brings me back to reality
But you'll be back again love
You'll be back

It makes me sad. The end is so hopeful and determined, but probably in vain. I relate to it a little too well. I'm not crazy about the the closing lines of the first two stanzas. "The beautiful possibilities ahead of me" just seems to long and out of balance. Overall, I think it's nice. I didn't expect the end.
