The relutant poet

The relutant poet

A Poem by Cherrie
"

Peyton and I write at night

"

The reluctant poet, I have made from a child’s pain. "Peyton my love let me see the words your pen has made."

Long ago when I was small my mom ran away.

“Honey-Lamb let’s not write sad, but think how this one thing will forever leave you changed.”

So line two soon did read: when I’m a mommy I will never leave, and play with my babies and teach them to read.

“Bravo,” said I with a kiss and a hug. “that’s enough poetry” I said with a tear that I try to hide.

This is just so very lovely. I can see you sitting there with Payton, joined in emotion at the joy of writing poetry together.

Let us hope that the 'reluctance' of the mother will become no more than a distant memory.

Thank you for sharing.

Ragged and real and filled to the brim with reality and truth..... I wonder how many times something like this little scenario is played out somewhere? Very nice indeed, N

Interesting concept for the write and very nice message of change, which is hard to do when you are brought up in a less than proper environment.
