The Promise of Summer

The Promise of Summer

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

Winter's tendrils,
are now
the jewels of Spring.
As Summer smiles
so coolly.

Perfect use of words. you said everything needed in so few words. I loved the flow of thoughts leading to the proper ending. Thank you dear Cherrie for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You did well dear Cherrie and you are welcome.
Perfect brevity. Your words make me think of the brushwood tresses on our silver birch. A few weeks ago, covered in droplets of rain and now sprouting green leaves. Lovely work Cherrie.

Thank you Kerra, I write about many topics but nature is one of my favorites.
And not before time either! Greetings from a dazzlingly sunny Scotland (yes, its not a typo) although we are sticking rigorously with the Mercury forgetting where North is.
Looking forward to those few cherished days of living dangerous and going out with only one coat on 😊
Well, we can dream 😊

Yes, live on the wild-side, one coat it is. Plus galoshes, an overcoat and don't forget your mask.
I’m always joyful when winter releases it’s hold and the warmer weather of spring settles in

Yes, me too. :)
Like life, even nature must experience its cold seasons. But the reward of summer soon comes along with those jewels.

:) Yes, I'm ready to hit the water and maybe a good picnic.
May be that way now, but I fear that smile won't be so cool come August.

:) thank you, I have been enjoying Spring this year alittle more than usual.
love her from afar. but she is cool towards me...so I keep my season of distance.

God, I love this poem...so damn expressive, Cherrie...
nice mix of the seasons...with metaphorical echoes.

so much inspiration!
dear Cherrie... the blooms of Spring have brought hope
and emotional healing. The Birds still
fly around and sing their tunes... of Clair De Lune,
especially during the night in the Moonlight. gently, Pat
