Oh, everything

Oh, everything

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

Oh ocean, take me far away from here

away from worry and strife

Where people talk and smile and play

Where I can do nothing but relax all day

Oh Breeze, take me into your arms

Pull me high up above

Show me how to fly

I'll drift upon your current

and my cares will float away

it would be so perfect

if only for a day

Oh Rain, wash the angst from my heart

Rain hard upon my soul

Take care upon your shoulders

Don't leave me in this hole

Oh Universe, I've heard you do great things

Won't you grant me one of your miracles

Or at least my angels wings

This was truly descriptive and beautiful. It does feel sometimes, as thought the weight of the world presses down upon us and if just for a moment, the ocean could sweep us away or the breeze could blow the weight off. I love the lonigng from something here on earth that is tangible to take us to another place that we only dream of. Great work!

A beautifully descriptive poem. I felt your wanting, the need to be pulled away and taken someplace safe and sane. I know I would love to go there too!

Tell me where it is and I'm coming with you. I love the feel of pending freedom in this and the way it flows with the truth of todays frantic pace...if you find the Utopia you want, let me know...in my head I'm already there!
Nice work...thumbs up.

Through each stanza of your poem, I longed to be in the situations you described. Well done.
