Desolate

Desolate

A Poem by Cheryl J. Turner

The shadow path

A winter road

My hidden past

The stories told

Empty streets

Hollow hearts

Callous daggers

and poisoned darts

How to say

What must not be said

How to soothe

My war weary head

Strength has faltered

Allies are few

Turn the page

Let us start anew

When life has taken a turn in the wrong direction sometimes it is best to start anew. You have conveyed the feelings for life moving in the wrong direction causing hurt and pain and even finding out that some friends are untrue. The flow of this poem is smooth.
