A Poem by Shane Watkins

I yearn for your lust.

I long for your unreachable passion.

Thou who I do not trust

My one, and only depression

Those eyes that keep me sane

That voice that keeps me wanting more

But, whenever I’m near you, there comes a pain.

You try to make things better, and even the score

One day I wish to be closer to you

But the closer we become, the farther we are

I beg for these feelings not to be true

I try to get away, but the reach is too far

Always together, always from the start

Maybe we’ll get married; “Till death do us part”
