For Today

For Today

A Poem by Devan McKinley

You can't just love her for today,
And think she'll be okay,
When you go and change your mind tomorrow.

You can't just leave without a word,
With any reasons left unheard,
Her heart isn't yours to borrow.

Now her loves' a higher cost,
She knows that shes better off,
Still that doesn't take the pain away.

But when you see her passing by,
She won't stop or meet your eye,
You can't just love her for today.
