Golden Sparrow

Golden Sparrow

A Poem by Chidoriflower

The golden sparrow dropped
It's wings being cut off

It could no longer fly
Or feel the warmth of the sky

Caged in it's insecurity
Mutilated by mistaken purity

On the ground staring, desperate
It was caught in a huntsman's net

What caused the bird's pain
 To shiver where it lay

Its pathetic struggle to survive
Made men laugh until they cried

The bird glittered and shown
With such beauty no one would ever know
Men soaked it in with selfish lust
Suddenly the light blinded them
And they vanished, leaving dust
