A Poem by Kaitlyn
"

For my friends, you know who you are, and I love you

"

I wonder if you know what I mean when I say "I love you".

Do you think I love you romantically?

Or that I love your smile?

Maybe you're certain it's your wit.

The way I laugh at all your jokes?

You're intelligent, and irresistable for conversation?

Some of these may certainly be true, but that's not it.

So when I say "I love you", what do I mean?

I mean that. . .

When I see you, my day gets a little brighter.

Even if I don't show it, I'm smiling inside.

I just want to hug you and never let go.

At some point, you did something that changed my life.

I could tell you anything, and I know you'd understand.

All of these and so many more are reasons I love you.

So when I say "I love you",

Please don't laugh and brush it off like it's nothing.

Know that you hold a little piece of me

And I will never forget you.

this is a very, VERY rough draft and more is going to be added at a later date. Any comments are welcome as long as they aren't "I hate this" or negative like that...

Awww regardless of the fact that you say this is rough, I think it's stunningly gorgeous, honestly the way the whole thing flows and how your emotions are so vivid, I really appreciate poems like this, because of their raw honesty. Beautiful work. Again, thank you.

I really like this! I tell some people during the day that i love them and i like to hear that too! I suppose that some can read too much into it......

But i think that its important to say that........and it doesnt have to be romantic either....
