Anchor

Anchor

A Poem by Chin-hooi Ng
"

About seashore

"
Wind, wandering
sea, flowing
footsteps, chasing
each other
sometimes far
sometimes near
the sea in the dream
love in the heart
symbols
echoing with the sound of the waves
rhythm of the kiss
sometimes strong
sometimes soft
the iron anchor
rusted and stained
sleeping at the bottom
of the bed
melody from the ship
a beautiful mournful tune
a moment of stirring, dancing
unknown melody tends
to end abruptly
without an ending
through a cave
translucent light travels on thick ice
a seabird flies over the boulder
vanishes into the variegated distance
the drizzle paints
a glimpse of the peacock's blue
the fragrance of the homeland
eliminated by the mud of the coast
the cottage on the shore
lost its season
its owner has changed
the cold in the air
proclaims solemnly
the search has lost its meaning.
