Zatoichi.

Zatoichi.

A Poem by Chloe Madison Taylor.
"

is beastly.

"

words like jigsaw pieces

sliding together and falling apart

I'm trying to string together a sentence

from my halfway functional heart.

making my past 5 in the morning

sentences and hooks clouding my brain

I wonder how many times a song can be played

before the radio itself will go insane

I'm afraid I'll never quite be normal

and functional thoughts can never be

but I don't need to make any sense right now

because Zatoichi wrote a poem about me.

Author's Note

Chloe Madison Taylor.
This is what happens when you go too many nights without sleep and you try to write a thank you poem. haha.

The Ballad of Chloe Madison, girl detective: Part 2 The Case of the late-70's Flashback

When last seen, our heroine was busy
sorting thru the fortune cookies at the Writer's Cafe
in a relentless quest for the right words;
the appropriate adjectives and verbs to say
(cue James Taylor)

"You've got a friend- ain't it good to know- you've got a frie-e-e-enddd"

I could dance with you all night long.
