Drunk Like Bible Times

Drunk Like Bible Times

A Poem by Chloe Madison Taylor.
"

It's missing something major.

"

Your eyes liquifying behind your glasses

cheefed out car, everybody relaxes

delayed sensory receptors

I hate my life all over again

and then the right song comes on.

I've mastered the art of walking home

drunk, and alone

without waking up

cold, and still stoned

in your  bedroom.

Have I changed the color on your mood ring yet?

All I do is watch television and feel things

and I don't even really watch television.

I know what I need, but I'm stubborn

I won't believe until I taste every cloud in heaven

but I'll be at your wedding

and all of the end-of-the-world celebrations

catching the bouquet

and stealing everyones wallet.

You're like the piano noone plays, when everyone is home.

I'm like a bottle someone shook up and left alone.

Author's Note

Chloe Madison Taylor.
Rough still.
Deleted:The first Sunday morning you didn't wake up on my kitchen floor

blessed and damned, wondering which controls me more

biting my lips to pieces

my frustrations are stockpiling sighs inside my chest

damned and blessed, baptized in dirty water

Death is easy, its the waiting thats torture.

Ugh, I love you and hate you.

You decided I was right after all
for the fourth time in a row.
and I know its getting a bit redundant,
But I told you so.

I'm just trying to change the color on your mood ring

but I'll be at your wedding
and all of the end-of-the-world celebrations
catching the bouquet
and stealing everyones wallet.

All I do is watch television and feel things
and I don't even really watch television.

Why? Cos I just finished the last pg to mine and Owens novel and I'm feeling all bad a*s, but then here you are being bad a*s too and sometimes I wish I was not only me, but also you.

Ugh.

I love these brilliant glimpses of life, painting vivid images and mixing in profound edged-emotions, line-by-line. This is powerful, amazing writing!
