Hope

Hope

A Poem by Christina Yan

Why is it so hard to say what’s on your mind?
Why are you so unkind?
I know it hasn’t been easy on you
But you can’t leave me without a clue

Do you see me in the cold?
I want to hear your story unfold
I don’t know what’s troubling you
But I want to let you know
I will ease the burden on your heart

If you feel down
Just turn around
I will always remember you

I’ll be your helping hand
And someone who listens and says “I understand”

If you truly believe in your heart
That’s where you will start
To understand you’re going to make it through
If you let people help you

Don’t fear the unknown
We are all prone
To struggles and strife
It will always be a part of life
But there’s always hope
If we learn to cope.
