Thinking about Religion

Sometimes I think about religion

And why folk do believe

It seems they're taught while they are young

On things they can't conceive

Brainwashed by those authorities

Who read it from a book

Then tell kids that they know it all

Maybe they were mistook

Why do folk need to believe all this

The cause maybe is fear

As they seek some kind of bliss

Cause death is always near

Their fear it makes them want to tell

Most other folk 'their truth'

They know that what 'they believe' is real

And yet they have no proof

So now there's wars, so many wars

They all think they are right

Crusades were always being fought

As the Christians showed their might

And fought the mores, lead by the pope

Though the good book said don't kill

But still the holy wars rage on

And I guess they always will

G'day coyote. I get so sick of all the wars that are carrying on. A year in Vietnam turned me off of war for the rest of my life. I reckon that our leaders should fight their own wars instead of sending young guy's out there to be killed. Thank you for your kind comments, mate. I appreciate...Peter

It is sad. In the name of religion, so many had been killed. And still today.
"But still the holy wars rage on
And I guess they always will"
I pray we learn. Every life had value my friend. Thank you Peter for sharing your amazing words and thoughts.
