Young Heart

Young Heart

A Poem by Cierra Scott
"

Dedicated to my friend's cousin who really did grow up without a father. ): Now she's 23, and just had a baby boy! Her husband came back a day before the baby was born. :)

"

Young innocent heart,

Within beats another.

A young woman,

baring a child.

Soon, it will be brought into this world,

But that young child will never know it's father.

Sent off to fight for his country,

And become a leader.

Months of impatience,

Pain and sorrow.

A child is born,

A baby girl.

Now all grown up,

Age 14.

She wonders who her father is,

She's only heard stories.

Her mother still weeps over his death,

But the girl cannot cry over who she doesn't know.

She feels like it's wrong for her not to cry,

But she really doesn't understand.

Her father's spirit always watching over her,

He protects her and speaks to her in her sleep.

"My pretty young daughter, live life well,"

She hears his voice, but doesn't know for sure if it's him.

Now age 23,

A pretty young heart.

Baring a child,

Who's father, was sent off to war.

But no, it's not the same.

He returns at the baby's birth.

A baby boy,

Who shall know his dad.

Young heart,

Do not stray.

Be happy with who you have in your life,

Because not everyone has a family..

I dunno... This poem is also like a story... Don't like how I worded some things... .-.

It is a beautiful story. I have known men who found their Father's on the Wall of the Vietnam Memorial. Still can make me sad years later. Your poem ended very good. A baby and a wife need their father and husband. A excellent and kind poem. Thank you.
