Sweet is the fire

That sparks in her eyes

Bright as the midday sun

Gifting those around her with warmth

Kindling light and hope

Breathing life and joy

A flame that ignites the soul

With passion and artistry

Spilling color

Into a grey, dreary landscape

Igniting others

Inspiring dreams

Spreading devotion

Devouring the dark and cold

Until the universe dances and laughs

And shares her joy

And the stars admire

Her brilliant shine

I wrote this for a friend who is...more than a friend but not quite a romantic partner even though this is definitely a love poem (it's complicated), because she asked for love poems for her birthday.
