Reopen

Reopen

A Poem by Christopher Byron

REOPEN

I will use you because you'll let me,

You Love me or so you say

I will rape you, body and soul

and only take what you give.

“I will let you free,” and I close the door.

You cry, “Reopen!” imprisoned even more.

Your cage is gilded, made of envy, lust, desire.

But it is also cold from fear, manipulation, pain.

My words lie, and so does your mind,

but you believe and so do I.

Vicious Circle

You are weak and I'm afraid but I'd never reveal

That I'm like you.

Eloquent, arrogant, a little insane, that's all it takes

to destroy your mind so that you hate too.

I'm encaged too, though I don't know it.

I need you as much as you think you need me.

A clever device, you think you can't live without me.

I let you. You think it's you who's wrong, But it...

It's me who's dependent, though I won't admit it.

Vicious Circle

A Word

Anger

Words

Yelling

Action

Screams!

I have set you free

Close the door with a handful of dirt.

I am not free.

I cry, “Reopen!”

Vicious Circle

I really liked it ^___^
you have i typo, i think..."but you believe and so doe I."
but
it was like
wow!
i really love how it started out with the writer as the assertive, the one who uses, to the one who needs the other, and i can see how it's a circle =3 fantastic!

A vicious cycle of one's mind....and life ....a scary yet powerful write. One worth reading...glad I took the time to do so. Well Done! PW

Not only is the emotion and pain of frustration excellently portrayed but the shape of the text all together is amazing too. I like the repetition of "vicious circle" and how at the end you speed up the voice with short words and lines like it's coming to a climax.

WOW
That is one powerful poem!
Words and body language do have so much power and they can surely tinker with the mind...Love and hate, they are a funny thing and sometimes go hand and hand ..Your poem seems to toy with that notion...

Explosive write! I love it
