Blind Flag

Blind Flag

A Poem by CitrtgoW8P

This entire country is a glass house, forged from fire, blown by the talking heads full of hot air, hate, and fear. These same people equip the citizens with rocks as big as their faces, and spin them around with American Flag blindfold wrapped around their eyes. When the flags are lifted, the darkness immediately gives way to blinding light, a light that is impossible to even register before the bodiless voices screech “FIRE!” and the stones start to fly. They watch in amusement as the rocks begin crashing into people’s bodies. From time to time though, a rock hits the glass, and the glass begins to crack. From high above in their corporate towers, they cannot even slightly perceive this brakes on the surface. They are too far removed to recognize what is happening.
