Tears of the Rain

Tears of the Rain

A Poem by Arya Le Dasmones

Tears are an expression of love,
Emotion moves us to rain,
Sometimes soft and harmless,
Other times, in hurricanes
and typhoons, creating more harm
than good.

But for me, who cries
far too easily, yet cannot
cry when the time is right,
Crying can be both and neither.

A release of pent up joyous anger,
twisted hate of love,
Life-giving, refreshing, the new
seeds of thought can be sown
when the forest of old
has been washed
away.

Nicely written Arya, both the negative and positive sides of crying and letting yourself go juxtaposed in a beautiful 'arrangement' of words. Just one suggestion: the transition between lines four and five is made a little awkward by the 'and' at the ending of the sentence. Maybe it might sound better if 'and' was moved to the front of the sentence below - that way the rhyming flows better.

Thanks to the both of you, it means a lot :) Suggestion adopted, Daniel~
I have an obsession with tears. There is the exact same salinity in a teardrop as a drop of ocean water...interesting and useless fact that it is...we cry tiny oceans...and all life came from the ocean...I think there is a definite metaphor there. Perhaps tears give life to emotion as much as the reverse holds true. I enjoyed your take on the tear...they definitely have a cleansing and purifying effect. Thanks for sharing this lovely write.
