To the End

To the End

A Poem by Indoor Downpours
"

You will never walk this road alone.

"
I'll follow you to the end of the road
Where the clocks rewind and the pain erodes
Our footprints trembling in the cold,
In the end, we're all alone.
Our parents are praying for closure
They're searching for letters by the door
And our friends are too wasted to realize
That we aren't with them anymore
I never thought I'd find myself smiling
As the journey draws to a close
Everyone that I love is truly dust in the wind
Their remains plastered on my lips.
But I've got nothing to say
After all this time, I've got nothing to say.
But as many times as I lost my mind
I never lost my way.
I'll follow you to the end of the road
Where we lay ourselves to rest.
Let the hounds devour my flesh and bone
Cause in the end I won't have any left.
I hope you cross my mind a final time
Before the color runs away.
Come find me in the sun again,
Watch the tears roll down my face
For the last time
I won't ever feel so alive
As the time of my last breath
So I'll walk with you to the very end
And relinquish my soul to the Autumn wind.
