Aftermath

Aftermath

A Poem by CleveDante

All that lies are scattered remains
Not quite a wreckage
But simultaneous echoes of emptiness
And a reminder of what is lost

Consuming
Devouring
Ravaging
To my core
Or at least, what is left

I don't want to fade
I just want to live
Without the anguish
And the despair
But without such
Can the love remain
Or be vanquished
So one can remain alive?

Well, I choose to love
So let me rot
If that is my fate
I will not deny my heart
No matter the consequences

I don't consider myself a writer. I'm just someone that releases from heart and soul, and now and again I tend to share such outbursts. more..
