Sir

Sir

A Poem by Saturnalia
"

I just don't care anymore.

"

Childish ignorance

Is what birthed this song

With my prying heart

And how it’s wrong.

Ignorance is best.

Words I’ve told myself.

To guard your remiss

So I could feel blessed.

All I ever wanted to know

Is where you awoke

And why you breathe in

Endless wisps of smoke.

Where have you been, sir?

But don’t ever let me know.

It’s too late for that.

Too long for ‘hello’.

You were gone before

You were even here.

Don’t come back now, sir.

It’s too late, I fear.

Can you see me, sir?

Through your nimbus

of elated smoke

Circling my mind.

You won’t hear this song

I don’t even care.

I’m sure you are too

High to be aware.

But who am I, sir

Speaking for you?

But what can you say?

Your words are taboo.

Where have you been, sir?

But don’t ever let me know.

It’s too late for that.

Too long for ‘hello’.

You were gone before

You were even here.

Don’t come back now, sir.

It’s too late, I fear.

The distance of time

Will you speak through?

She never said you can’t

But I know it’s true.

I’ll no longer hope

To see again.

Now I know the truth

I won’t wait till then.

Saturnalia
A song I wrote about my father whom I never knew. It's not perfect so suggestions are welcomed.

I think it is good. This part, "Can you see me, sir? Through your nimbus of elated smoke circling my mind." was kind of confusing at first galnce. But other than that, I think it's good.
