A Poem by Clyde du Coeur
"

Inspired by a western story I'm writing. This is from Millie's POV and this is the arrival of her old flame, Lewis, who was run out of town having been threatened with death a few months before.

"

The checked curtains rap against the stained glass;

The wind provokes my mane to imitate against my tear-stained face.

A gust of wind stirs up sand on ground,

And through the dust I see him, clear as day.

He faces me, a suitcase by his side,

Looking into his, I question him with my eyes:

Circumstances prevented our love from blooming,

They say.

Muscles take control and I spring up,

And I go to him.

A few feet from eachother

We stand.

A layer of sand dances in the wind by our feet;

Still our gaze is locked.

Welcoming him into my circle,

He takes a few steps at pace.

Suddenly I am in his hold, kissing his lips as he does mine,

Into another, we dissolve " the sand encasing us to the wind.

great i like this and the passionate way things turn out. the eye contact is captured well. i love the word 'mane' dunno why, just do, perhaps it denotes the animal self somehow.

I like this very much. I thought at first it was a dream, spose it could be, but I like the ending.

All faded blue
