~Fauna

~Fauna

A Poem by Clyde du Coeur
"

Metaphorical comparisons between a girl and a faun.

"

Swirling about the lawn in the crystal moonlight,

She dances with a fairy’s grace, so delicately;

Her toes spring across the grass so gently

As she glides across the way.

Over the bridge of dreams she goes,

Pausing to make a wish to the rippling stream below;

Looking up into the deep blue,

She closes her eyes and inhales the clear night air.

Startled by an admiring prince nearby,

She glances and holds her gaze upon him:

Blinded by her stare, he turns away…

When he conquers his fears, she is gone.

**Inspired by "My Spanish Heart" performed by Chick Corea.**

I love reading pieces that have been inspired by others work, I think it's a great way to keep certain messages and other works alive, but through the eyes of different artists, and this is a prime example of that. This is a great piece.
