Sorry I don't conform.

Sorry I don't conform.

A Poem by Clyde du Coeur
"

I've watched countless friendships and relationships blossom as they step outside for a f*g - sometimes I wonder if I'm missing out. Consider this ventilation; it's been brewing for a while.

"
Sorry I don't smoke.
Sorry I don't go clubbing til the early hours.
Sorry I don't get drugged up on illegal substances.
Sorry I don't listen to Noughties music on the radio.
Sorry I don't hang out backstage and sleep with my idols.
Sorry I don't have £100 on my Oyster card.
Sorry I don't drink alcohol in Central London.
Sorry I don't dress like a s**t in tiny skirts and high heels.
Sorry I don't bleach my hair dry or want to look like a barbie.
Sorry I don't spend stupid amounts of money on the latest fashionable trend.
Sorry I don't go to the gym to meet guys.
Sorry I don't like the iPhone.
Sorry I don't like the Blackberry either.
Sorry I don't rely on my phone for absolutely everything.
Sorry I don't constantly cruise my phone when my friends are right in front of me.
Sorry I don't want an upgrade.

Sorry I want to live as long as I can.
Sorry I find entertainment in cinemas and cultural activities.
Sorry I want to stay clean.
Sorry I treasure music of the ages.
Sorry I would rather enjoy the gig and keep the memory without getting hurt.
Sorry I can only afford my travel in £10 segments.
Sorry I can't afford overpriced bottles of beer in Central London.
Sorry I feel comfortable in jeans and trainers.
Sorry I can dye my hair pink and still feel comfortable in my own skin.
Sorry I prefer to save before I spend.
Sorry I want to lose weight, tone and improve my health.
Sorry I just want a phone that texts and calls people.
Sorry I reply to texts.
Sorry I call back when you accidentally dial me.
Sorry I email when I want to hear from you.
Sorry I want to be your friend.

Author's Note

Clyde du Coeur
I AM the second half.
Would it REALLY make a difference if I did the first half?
I don't think I'd like myself if I did.

The second half is totally me too. I’m not into the partying crowed either. Fun for a night maybe but it always comes back to slap you in the face in some way. Great write!!

Ach, well done you. Be true to yourself. Sod everyone else's opinions. Follow no one. Fad and fashion are flim and flam.
