You Hold Eternity in Your Hands

You Hold Eternity in Your Hands

A Poem by John Cody Buck
"

This poem is about my awesome God. It is also about the ways that the world is beginning to behave and the ways that the world responds to Jesus.

"

Creator of Earth and heaven above.

You're the definition of truth and the purest of love.

Watchman of the mountains, the deserts, and the woods.

Though people attempt to disprove you, no one ever could.

The mightiest beasts of all the world would stand in awe of you.

Through time, the land's greatest people have bowed down too.

Some think they're rulers, that they make all the calls.

But the truth is, our Father in heaven is in charge of it all.

He knows your destiny... your peaks and your valleys.

His undescribable love keeps the weak from becoming the devil's casualties.

We all know of His greatness, it's a topic presented every day.

But only few choose to seek Him, and the majority turn away.

We're turning down the road where we'll forever be lost.

Why can't today's world accept that His son paid the whole cost?

He's loving and perfect, but He is able to be angered.

We're slowly but surely putting ourselves in eternal danger.

Yesterday, today, and forever... He knows and sees the whole line of time.

Eternity's outcome is known by only the One who is divine.

Does He see a happy ending where we all share His home?

Or do today's blind unbelievers foreshadow an ending where we're in flames and alone?
